Trip to South Padre Island, Texas
Our longest trip so far was for a month at South Padre Island, Texas. Also we went to Port Isabel where we found a church to attend. We were a little disappointed as the light house was under construction and was closed to the public. The weather was good except for a few days when the visibility was low and a couple of really cool days. The day before we left was absolutely beautiful. We got to see a lot of attractions and visited some shops. We found a shop in particular we really liked it was Whiskers Resale Shop.Went on the beach and found a lot of shells. Charlie went with one of our neighbors fishing. Watched kites flying and parasailing. The island provided free bus rides on the island and to Port Isabel. Wish we had taken our jeep because it is legal to drive on the beach and that is why a lot of people go there instead of Florida we were told. Many of our neighbors are from Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Canada but come down here and become winter Texans, meaning they stay there 6 months out of the year.
